This article is for students, faculty, and staff who wish to upload a video to Stream.

Adding a video to your channel allows others to view, like, and comment on it. Any person can upload a video to it. Videos are often uploaded to a channel, and this assumes that the channel is already created. For more instructions on how to create a channel, see Creating a Channel.

  1. Log in to Office 365

  2. Click on the grid icon in the top left-hand corner.

  3. Click on All apps

  4. Select Stream from the menu that appears.

  5. Click on +Create.

  6. Select Upload Video.

  7. Drag the file to the indicated place on the screen or select browse to select the file.

    1. While the video is being processed, some of the following settings may not be able to be selected or changed. If these are necessary, wait until the video finishes processing to have them available.

  8. Under the Details menu, choose a name, description, language, and thumbnail for the video.

  9. Under the Permissions menu, choose a group, channel, or people to share the video with.

  10. Under the Options menu, choose if comments are enabled, captions are automatically generated, and a subtitles file should be uploaded.

  11. To get a shareable link to this video, select Share. If desired, the link can be configured to start at a specific time during the video.

  12. Select Publish to publish the video.

  13. To view the video, select the name of the video, which appears above the settings menus.
