"Webex Events (classic)" has been replaced by "Webex Webinars." This transition was automatic; however, Events that were scheduled before this change have not been, and cannot be, converted to the new platform.

  • Webex Webinars is a great option for hosting seminars/events and delivering content to many people remotely.

  • Use Webex Webinars when the presentation is one-way. In other words, there is no, or very limited, vocal audience participation.

  • A Webinar can have up to 1,000 participants.

  • Webex Webinars is web-based, so there is no need for a VPN. Do not use a Remote Desktop Connection.

  • The audience may use Chat and Q&A.

  • Panelists, Cohosts, and the Host may make use of the Practice Session.

  • To Troubleshoot Webex Webinars, use the general Webex Troubleshooting pages. If you need further help, reach out to techsupport@uconn.edu

  • With Webex Webinars (2022),

    • there is just one join link for both Panelists and Attendees.

    • panelists and attendees may join using the Web App ("join from browser"); no download required.

    • it is very easy to lock your Webinar behind UConn NetID Login.

    • Automatic recording is now available (disables Automatic Practice Session).

    • Automatic Practice Session in the beginning of the Webinar is now available (disables Automatic Recording).

Concurrent Session Limit

Users may schedule up to 5 concurrent sessions. Both Webex Meetings and Webex Webinars count towards this quota.
