This article is for faculty, staff, and students who wish to have a Teams conversation with a UConn Health Center (UCHC) user.
Having a Team's conversation with a UCHC user is different than with a UConn user because UCHC is still using Skype for Business. This causes their accounts to show up as External. To begin a Teams conversation with a UCHC user:
In Teams, search the UCHC email (*@uchc.edu) of the UCHC user to chat with.
In the search results, select the External that appears.
The first account appears because the user also has an Office 365 account with an associated uconn.edu email address. However, this account is unlicensed, and any messages sent to this account will not be received. In order for the UCHC user to receive the message, the external account must be selected.
A chat will open for the user's UCHC account.
