Adding a video to your channel allows others to view, like, and comment on it. Any person can upload a video to it.

Click on All apps and then choose Stream

Select Create from the top menu bar.

Select Upload Video.

You may drag the video file(s) to the web browser or select browse to select the file.

While the video is uploading, you will have some settings available to you.

  1. Choose Stream. If needed, click on All apps to see the complete list of apps.  
    You may bookmark this page for easy access in the future.

  2. Click on Upload in the top banner.

  3. In the popup window, find your file and click on Open.

  4. A new popup will appear, asking you where you would like to save the video in your cloud storage. The default is OneDrive. Click on Change location if you would like to set the folder in which to save the file.

  5. Once the video has finished uploading,

While the video is being processed, some of the following settings may not be able to be selected or changed. If these are necessary, wait until the video finishes processing to have them available.

Under the Details menu, choose a name, description, language, and thumbnail for the video.

  1. Once the video had uploaded, you may choose a frame from the video. Or you may upload any picture file to act as the thumbnail by clicking on the + button.

  2. The thumbnails will appear once the video has finished uploading.

Under the Permissions menu, choose a group, channel, or people to share the video with.

  1. Check the “Allow everyone in your company to view this video” box to allow anyone with a NetID viewing privilege.

  2. Share with individual users to allow specific viewership and also send them notification email.

  3. Check the Owner box to give that user elevated privileges, such as editing the transcript and editing video details.

Under the Options menu, choose if comments are enabled, captions are automatically generated, and a subtitles file should be uploaded.

  1. Here you may enable/disable comments and auto-generate the transcript (captions).

  2. You may also upload your own transcript (subtitles) if you have one.

To get a shareable link to this video, select Share. If desired, the link can be configured to start at a specific time during the video.

Tip

You must stay on this page until the video finishes Uploading. You may leave the page while the video is Processing.

Select Publish to finish.

  2. Click on Open to see the video and make changes to it.

  3. You may change

    1. The Thumbnail: this is the image that appears before you press Play.

    2. The “About video” toggle shows/hides the video description below the video player.
      You may add a description to the video now.

    3. You may generate a Transcription or upload an existing one.

  4. The video is now in your cloud location and can be shared like any other OneDrive/SharePoint file. Click on Share if you would like to share it.

Tip

You must keep your browser open and on the Stream website until the video finishes uploading.
