The SimplyNUC AirServer is a wireless presentation device installed in classrooms that allows users to wirelessly share content to the displays in the classroom without being bound to the podium.

Note: While the Kramer Via device looks very similar to the SimplyNUC AirServer, it is not the same and we do not support it.

Specifications

  • Supports Windows, MiraCast, Mac OS, iOS, Android, and Chrome OS (Linux).

  • Supports Apple AirPlay and Google Cast.

  • Supports up to 4k at 30 frames per second. Please note that UConn classrooms are scaled to 1080p (Full HD).

  • Supports up to 9 users (presenters) at a time.

  1. Tap on the touch screen to wake the classroom system.

  2. Choose Wireless Presentation.

  2. You will see a QR Code, WiFi network name, and Password displayed on the room’s projector/monitors.

  3. To connect your device to the WiFi network created by the wireless presentation device you may point your device’s camera at the QR Code. You may also go to your device's WiFi settings to manually switch over to the AirServer’s WiFi network.

  2. Once connected, begin casting your screen to the AirServer. Choose the appropriate tab below for further instructions.

Tip

If prompted to enter a PIN when connecting to the WiFi, click Connect using a security key instead and enter the password shown on the classroom projector/monitors.

  1. Connect your iPhone to the AirServer's WiFi network (see instructions above).

  2. Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open your context menu.

  3. Click Screen Mirroring and choose the option that shares the name of your room.

    1. This button is represented by two hollow rectangles.

 MacBook

  1. Connect your Macbook to the WePresent's WiFi (see instructions above).

  2. If you see the AirPlay icon (shown below) in your top menu bar, click on it to begin casting your screen.

  3. If you do not see the icon, click on the Apple icon in the top left of your screen, and then click System Preferences

  4. Click Displays and choose your AirPlay Display.

  1. Connect to the AirServer’s WiFi network.

  2. Pull down your menu by swiping down on your phone’s screen from the top.

  3. Choose Screen Cast from the quick options or find Screen Cast in your Settings.

  4. Choose the room’s AirServer as your destination. The AirServer will have the same name as the classroom.

  1. If your Android phone does not support Google Cast, go to the Google Play Store to download Miracast.

  2. Open the Miracast app.

  3. Once the page shown below loads, click the yellow Connect button.

  5. When you return to the Miracast app, you will see a blue icon display. Press this icon to view a popup menu that displays your options. From the pop-up menu that appears, you can:

    1. Pause casting.

    2. Set the aspect ratio.

    3. Disconnect from your Airserver device.

  • On your Windows laptop, press the Windows key + to open your Connect menu.

  • Find the AirServer in the list.

  • By default, the AirServer will duplicate your screen. If you would like to change this, press the Windows key + to Change projection mode.

If you are using a Chromebook or other Chrome device, follow these instructions.

  1. After connecting your device to the AirServer's WiFi, open a Chrome browser window.

  2. Click on the vertical ellipsis button in the top-right corner.

  3. Choose Cast from the menu.

  4. To stop casting, find the Cast notification in the bottom-right menu and click Stop.
