***This category trumps all others. If you fit into this row in the table, you are forever ineligible for AFS. Once you are employed or associated with the university in a non-student relationship, you have the potential to receive confidential information. People who send you this information may not be informed when your association terminates and therefore may continue to send you confidential information. For this reason, you may not keep your UConn email address once you leave the university.

How to set up, change, or stop AFS

You will not receive an activation code until the Registrars Office has completed your graduation paperwork.

  1. Navigate to alumniforwarding.its.uconn.edu

  2. Under the “Set up a new forwarding address” field, enter the activation code you received via email from ITServices@uconn.edu.

  3. You will be redirected to a new page to configure your forward. Confirm that the displayed @uconn.edu is correct and enter the personal email address where you would like your mail forwarded to and Submit.

  4. You will be redirected to a verification page. You will need to log in to the destination email inbox you selected to retrieve the verification code and complete the forward setup process.

  5. You will be automatically redirected to the Forward Management page where you can see the configuration of your forward and the current status.
    Note: Please allow up to 24 hours for changes to take effect.

Managing your existing forward

  1. Navigate to alumniforwarding.its.uconn.edu

  2. Under the “Manage or remove an existing forward” field, enter the destination address that your mail is currently being forwarded to and select Manage.

  3. An authorization code will be sent to the destination address. Check your inbox for the code and enter it in the authorization field and submit to continue.

  4. Once you’ve authenticated, you will be redirected to the Forward Management portal. Here you can see the status of your forward, renew the forward for 1 year, change the destination address for your email forward, or delete the email forward.
