Click the fourth option, Set Password Recovery Options. The best approach is to set your secondary contact information using either a personal email or a mobile phone number.

ITS is phasing out Secret Questions & Answers. They are not the most secure method for password recovery because answers can be often searched and found on social media and other outlets. |
Secondary Email
To set up a secondary email,
Navigate to the NetID website.

Login by clicking Login for more and entering your NetID and NetID password.
On the password recovery tile, click Configure.
You will be on the Password Recovery Options page where you add alternative contact methods. We recommend that you add both an email address and mobile number, but you will need to do it in two steps.
Option 1: Secondary email (preferred)

If you are a student in high school or at a different university, do not use your email associated with that school. Oftentimes those accounts will be deleted when you separate from the institution and you will no longer be able to use it for recovery. |
Enter a personal email address (not

Click Save Changes.
Log in to the email account provided.
From your inbox, open the email from netid@uconn.edu. This email message will provide a verification code you will need to copy or write down.
Enter the verification code into the field provided on the NetID website.
Click Submit

Enter your mobile number in the corresponding field.
Click on the white downward arrow to open up the drop-down menu and select your carrier.
Click Save Changes.
Open the text on your phone

Back in your browser, enter the verification code into the field provided.
