There's never a need to manually manipulate registry settings

To restore the default settings on a Mac System:If LockDown Browser is unexpectedly closed (computer loses power, application crashes, etc.), your computer may not show power options in the Start menu. This may prevent you from shutting down or restarting your computer. You can restore this functionality by modifying running LockDown Browser in a modified state.

Note

You do not need to modify values in the Windows registry to resolve this issue. Some tutorials elsewhere online suggest making these modifications, which can threaten the stability of your computer’s operating system.

How to restore default settings on Windows

  1. Right click on the LockDown Browser desktop shortcut in Windows and select Properties.

  2. Under the Shortcut tab, locate the Target: field. At the end of the target address, append the following parameter:   /restore. Note there is a space in front of the parameter.

  1. Click Apply to save the change.

  2. After starting LockDown Browser with the /restore option, you should see a confirmation pop-up window that says "Settings Restored".

After your settings are restored, be sure to remove the "/restore" from the LockDown Browser shortcut.
