This article is intended for instructors looking to set up and manage the Overall Grade in their HuskyCT Ultra Course.

Instructions:
Navigate to your Ultra Course in HuskyCT.
From the top navigation menu, click Gradebook.

If you have not yet created the Overall Grade Column column in your Gradebook, click the Settings icon in the top right corner of the Gradebook page.
From the side-menu that appears, scroll down and select Set up overall grade.
For the Select an Overall Grade calculation , there are 3 optionsmethod: Points, Weighted, and Advanced. You can click the highlighted “Show example” to view a sample of how each would calculate.

4. Select an Overall Grade calculation method, then click Next.

Once created, the Overall Grade column

will appear as the 1st column in your Gradebook.

Calculating the Overall Grade
The Overall Grade page will display displays all course assessments (by category) which are available for overall grade calculation.

2. To remove a category or individual assessment from the calculation, select the Exclude exclude (or null) symbolicon. When an item is excluded, the Exclude symbol exclude icon will be highlighted purple. Click the symbol icon again to re-include it.

3. To Click the unlink icon to remove an assessment from it’s category (for Overall Grade calculation only), click the Unlink symbol. This removes the assessment from the category drop-down and allowing so it to can be given its own separate percentage, separate from the category. (To re-add the item to the category, click the Unlink symbol againClick the unlink icon again to add it back to its categpru).

4. Use the % text box field to input the weight of a given category or assessment. Click the Lock symbol lock icon to lock the percentage value while you are adjusting the other percentages.

5. The total weight will be displayed below the assessments. *Please note that : if the total percentage does not add up to 100%, Ultra will it’s not allow you possible to save your progress.

HuskyCT Default Letter will display the grade as a Letter Grade. To view the percentage ranges used for each letter, or to adjust them, follow the instructions here: Letter Grade Schemas |
3. To show or hide the Overall Grade column to students, toggle the check mark next to Show to Students.

4. When finished, select Save.
