How to Install a Networked Printer


The following quide guide will assist you in installing a networked printer on your Mac OS system. The latest drivers for HP printers (v.5.0) are available at the following location: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888 Note: this download is 584 MB. This should be downloaded if the printer model that you wish to install is NOT AVAILABLE on the printer list in Step 4B (below). The departmental networked printers are in Bous 118, 145a, 173, 190C, and A316.

For printer options click on the "Configure" button as the printer loads.

On the following screen after selecting printer model make sure that "Optional Tray 3" has "500-Sheet Input Tray" selected and that the "Duplex Unit" is also checked. You may need to push the scroll bar up (at right) in order to see all the options.

If you require more printers are to be installed, they can also be done from the "Printer Browser" screen. Simply refer to step #3 above. You do not need to start at the system preferences screen.
