Uninstall Kaltura Capture.
Re-download the installer if needed. Visit kaltura.uconn.edu, click on ADD NEW and choose Kaltura Capture
Click on the download link for Windows and then double click on the downloaded files
The first option you can alter during installation is the Recordings folder:” and this is what needs to change to fix the issue. Shown in the screenshot below, Kaltura Capture defaulted to my Program Files folder, in which it doesn’t actually have write-permission. This is for security reasonsLimiting app’s access to this folder is a security measure sometimes taken by your computer.
You will need to change this file-path to a location with less-strict permissions. To make this easy, open File Explorer.
Click on the yellow folder icon in your Taskbar.
In the left menu, click on This PC
Click on Windows (C:) → Users → [your username, likely your NetID] → Videos
You may choose a folder other than Videos“Videos”, but this using the “Videos” folder makes sense for this use-case. Open the “Videos” folder.Next, click on the file-path bar
Once you click on it, it will show your file path. Copy this text.
Paste this text into the Kaltura Capture installer window.
Continue with the installation now that Kaltura Capture is directed to save its recordings in a folder it has read/write access to.

In Kaltura Capture for MacOS, the default save location is
/Users/[your username, likely your NetID]/Library/Preferences/Kaltura/Capture/Recordings/
