Per Atlassian:
Bitbucket Cloud Trial requires a Credit Card on file. It won’t be charged. Billing is separate. Card can be removed. Don’t put money into it, since we need to work through a partner (Insight).
Move a team space into trial.

Premium comes with Pipelines. Pipelines is the equivalent of Bamboo.

Work with Azure containers. Consider where you are deploying the code.

Greetings Bitbucket and Bamboo stakeholders,

ITS is planning to evaluate Bitbucket’s Cloud version to align with our other Atlassian products, Jira and Confluence, in the cloud. Bitbucket Cloud Premium is integrated with their CI/CD tool Bitbucket Pipelines, as Bamboo is not available in the Cloud.

Atlassian offers a 90-day free trial, which provides Bitbucket and Bamboo stakeholders the opportunity to perform testing.  We would like to begin this trail as soon as possible.
Your participation in testing is important. Please let us know if you are not able to perform testing within the next 90 days.  We will do our best to accommodate your schedules.

Provided use cases are successful, we will proceed with the migration to Bitbucket Cloud Premium, along with Bitbucket Pipelines in the Cloud, which will replace Bitbucket Data Center and Bamboo on premise.

ITS will leverage a ‘Bitbucket Cloud Migration Assistant’ to migrate projects and repositories (under 10gb), all pull request diffs and metadata and users.
Atlassian does not offer a migration tool for Bamboo. We will coordinate with Bamboo users on the specifics of the migration.

A Bitbucket Cloud migration Q&A is available here.

For your reference, this article provides more detailed information on the differences between Bamboo and Bitbucket Pipelines.

Note there are a few Bitbucket Data Center plugin’s that are not supported in the Cloud.  We can discuss possible alternatives or workarounds.

Bitbucket Installed Plug-In's:

Possible Alternative

Webhook to Jenkins for Bitbucket

Software Development Optimization - unsupported

Jira Hooks for Bitbucket

A replacement is not necessary, as Bitbucket Cloud includes native Jira integration.

Commit Graph for Bitbucket Data Center

Awesome Graphs for Bitbucket - Supported

Bitbucket DC - User count - 169 people. 500 user license.

In cloud – (premium) $5,877/year

--maybe add 5-10 people for expected growth.

Additional Transactional costs? Usage? – No.
Git Large File storage is 10gb.

Complete Atlassian documentation:

The Bitbucket migration can be completed manually or through the use of the BCMA (Bitbucket Cloud Migration Assistant) plugin. There's a lot of information available about this tool and how it works, including a demo video showing the tool itself (at the bottom of that link).

Allow me to share with you some documentation, that will guide you to prepare your team and guide on the migration process:

  1. How to use the BCMA

  2. Pre-migration checklist

  3. Post-migration checklist

  4. Bitbucket Cloud Migration Q&A

The Jira and confluence integration can be done after the pre-migration step, as you can see on the Post-migration checklist. However, for a successful migration, let me share specific links for Jira and the confluence checklist:

Regarding the migration from bamboo to pipelines, we still don't have a tool for doing that, we have a feature request for this, which you can follow for updates: Migration from Bamboo Server to Bitbucket Cloud Pipelines  So, after the migration, you can share your questions regarding start using pipelines and we can manage to assist you with that.
