"Webex Events (classic)" has been replaced by "Webex Webinars." This transition was automatic; however, Events that were scheduled before this change have not been, and cannot be, converted to the new platform.
Webex Webinars is a great option for hosting seminars/events and delivering content to many people remotely.
Use Webex Webinars when the presentation is one-way. In other words, there is no, or very limited, vocal audience participation.
A Webinar can have up to 1,000 participants.

Webex Webinars is web-based, so there is no need for a VPN. Do not use a Remote Desktop Connection.
The audience may use Chat and Q&A.
Panelists, Cohosts, and the Host may make use of the Practice Session.

There is just one join link for both Panelists and Attendees.
Panelists and attendees may join using the Web App ("join from browser"); no download is required.
It is very easy to lock your Webinar behind UConn NetID Login.
Automatic recording is now available (disables Automatic Practice Session).
Automatic Practice Session at the beginning of the Webinar is now available (disables Automatic Recording).
