This article is for students, faculty, and staff seeking information regarding Webex's Record feature and accessing their recorded Webex meetings. Users can share their recording with a public link, or restrict their link to UConn members. Users also have the option to download an mp4 file of their recording. 

If you recorded your meeting in a classroom, reach out to techsupport@uconn.edu to receive a link to download or share.
Example: You recorded a meeting in Rowe 320, as opposed to a meeting you hosted from your Personal Room.

Record to local storage - not recommended LOCAL RECORDING HAS BEEN DISABLED

  • Uses space on your computer's hard drive
  • A .mp4 file will be saved to your Documents folder unless you choose another folder after clicking the Record button.
  • Content and Participants' cameras will be in the chosen content-participant layout.

  • Your microphone will always be unmuted in the recording (microphone mute will work during the meeting).
  • Recording is offline and ready to be edited by a third-party video editor.
  • Recording will have to be uploaded in order to share (Kaltura, HuskyCT, YouTube, Facebook, or other).

    • Unlimited Cloud storage

    • A transcript will be automatically generated. Learn about Webex Transcripts.

    • If you lose power or drop out of the call, the recording will continue.

    • Recording can be downloaded as an mp4 file.Content and Participant videos remain separate. You may switch between viewing content and presenter, or just the presenter. Note: If you download the recording, the . mp4 file on your hard drive will not have this feature.

    • Recording occurs on the Webex server to ensure to highest possible quality. Cloud recording does not rely on your bandwidth.

    3. You may begin and stop the recording as many times as you wish. Each recording will be a separate file in your My Recordings list. If you do not want to create separate recordings, use the Pause option.

    2. When you click Stop, another window will pop up asking if you are sure that you want to stop. This window will remind you of your ability to pause the recording in case pausing is more appropriate.

    Set Scheduled Meetings to Record Automatically

    1. Sign into webex.uconn.edu

      1. Go to webex.uconn.edu.

      2. Click the green UConn Webex Login button. Click here to see the button

      3. Click the blue Sign In button in the top-right corner of the window. Click here to see the button

    2. Click on Recordings in the left-hand menu.

    3. Click on the drop-down menu under "My Recorded Meetings".

    4. Change the selection from "All" to Deleted".
