Students, faculty and staff can update Ubuntu Linux.
Installing Updates in Ubuntu Linux
- Use the desktop search function to find the Update Manager.
- Open the Update Manager.
- Click Check to find all new updates.
- Click on the Install Updates option. Ubuntu will prompt you for the user password when installing updates.
Enabling Automatic Updates in Ubuntu Linux
- Open Update Manager.
- Click the Settings button in the bottom left.
- In the Updates tab, set the Check for Updates field to Daily and Install Security Updates Without Confirmation.
- Select Close.
