There are two ways to manually check for updates.
Method 1
Select the Start button.
Select Settings (i.e., the gear icon).
Click on Update & Security.
Click on Windows Update.
Select Check for Updates.
Method 2
Type Windows Update into the Search bar to the right of the Start Window button (Windows icon).
Click Check for Updates under Update Status.

If you have not turned on your computer for an extended period of time, your computer may have a backlog of updates to install that could take time and several reboots. |
