  1. Download the FileZilla Client from the project's website:https://from filezilla-project.org/.
  2. Install/Copy copy the FileZilla application to your workstation.
  3. Open FileZilla.
  4. Fill out the fields at the top with your connection information:
    1. Host: The DNS hostname of the server you are connecting to , (i.e., my_server.its.uconn.edu)
    2. Username: The name of the user account given to you to use
    3. Password: The password
    4. Port: 22 for SFTP (Strongly strongly recommended, likely required) or 21 for insecure FTP.

  5. Click Quickconnect.
  6. If prompted, optionally click "select Always trust this host, and add this key to the cache", and click OK on the "Unknown host keyHost Key" dialog box.
  7. If your credentials are valid and you have access, FileZilla will display the SFTP/FTP share's contents on the "Remote site:Site" part of the window on the right. Your local workstation's contents will be displayed on the left under "Local site:Site." . You can browse files on both sides , and copy files between them by clicking and dragging.
