Requirements / Clarification Questions
Below is a list of questions that were asked either to the customer or the customer asked IT, which aided in capturing and/or refining the requirements for the envisioned end-product. The high-level requirements captured in the /wiki/spaces/FEB/pages/8641151607 were, in-effect, derived from such Q's and discussions.
To | Question | Outcome | Recommendation |
---|---|---|---|
Customer | Target go-live? | July 1st 2020 | |
2-3 attachments. What are they for? |
Overall, looking at no more than two attachments; ideally, just one: org chart | Internal Notes: It has been recommended to customer that such internal notes / additional material sent by employee and approval chain to be incorporated within the form itself | |
IT | Is there a limit on the number of rows that can be added to a table? (for the Employee section) | According to the HCL Leap's (product's) documentation, a row length of the table has limitation of 32677 bytes — if 4 bytes per character, we are looking at a max of: 8169 characters | |
IT | How hard is it to duplicate this form completely? For Mgmt reclasses | Duplicating is not hard at all. However, the fields would need tweaking / or adding different fields etc. to fit the use-cases etc. | Let's complete the UCPEA Reclassification (this project) first, and then we can entertain the idea of replicating this and configuring it for Management Reclassification |
IT | Can we have Incomplete button go back to multiple stages | Yes. HR Role has been given the ability to send the form back to a particular stage after they receive it the second time. i.e.: (Supervisor/3D Designee) → HR → Employee → Supervisor → (Additional Reviewer / Manager) → (Manager / Additional Reviewer) → HR | |
IT | What does the employee, etc. see when they look at the form. Only their own sections, or the complete form? | Couple of things at play here:
A field might be visible to, e.g. Employee, but not necessarily editable. For example, once the employee submits the form to their supervisor and subsequently when the supervisor submits the form to the next level, the employee (using the same link they received in their initial email) can go back to the form and see where the form's progress... However, that does not necessarily mean they can edit/update/add-to etc. the fields. In essence,

IT | Action Completion Messages – how much can we customize | Basic Microsoft Word like functionality is provided — Bold, Italic, etc. Also things like centering the content, making a (numbered/bulleted) list, adding images etc. Also, potentially some custom HTML (second small red box, in figure below)... | |
Customer | GWI Increase (in %) – outside of the contract, does this number change? | It may, depending on the formal / stipulated agreement between Union & HR | |
Customer | Can the merit % change? | Yes... baseline is 1% and then there might be other components that affect it (e.g. discretionary merit, etc.) | |
IT | Possible to change the "FROM" email address? (instead of noreply@uconn.edu to something else?) | ||
IT | The layout implemented, within the Supervisor section for Level of supervision, using "Select One" is not working. Can we go back to the way it was? (checkboxes and definition of each option to its right) — so that the end user who is filling out the form does not have to scroll for the definitions? — Reasoning: usability. | ||
Customer | Can one HR Specialist team member see reclassification forms (in whatever stage they may be in) assigned to other HR Specialists? | Yes | In that case, we must keep the HR Specialist role as a "Closed" role; this effectively removes item #2 from "Not Doing" section. |
Customer | Will the HR Mailbox email be the same as the BCC email? | Yes | |
IT | Can we change the { Link to this Form } to something else? | In short: Yes Initially, the gut answer was a "No", as this was not possible in the past. Even the product's official documentation mentions that this is not do-able at present. However, reaching out to a fellow Leap developer, a "work-around" was suggested which can make it possible to change the link's label. |
