Creating a Teams Meeting on HuskyCT

Instructors can use the Microsoft Education tool to schedule and create Teams meetings directly through their HuskyCT Course.

 

Through the Microsoft Teams integration on HuskyCT, instructors can

  • Schedule new meetings.

  • Review upcoming, current, and past meetings.

  • Access meeting attendance.

  • Access meeting recordings.

 

To access Microsoft Teams on HuskyCT, instructors must first complete the set up process for Microsoft Education from with their HuskyCT Course. To enable Microsoft Education, follow the instructions located in this article.

 

  1. Located under Details & Actions, navigate to Microsoft Education.

  2. From the list of available Microsoft applications, select Meetings.

  3. Click on New Meeting located in the top right-hand corner.

  4. Adjust the settings for the meeting.

    1. Add a title: Create a meeting title which will appear for all attendees.

    2. Invite required attendees: Instructors can require attendees by clicking within the box and selecting the appropriate names. To add each student from their course roster, click Add entire class. Alternatively, instructors can invite optional attendees by click +optional.

    3. Allow anyone in the course to join: If the meeting is entirely optional and no participants are required, check Allow anyone in the course to join. Selecting this option will allow all participants to join the meeting, but not require attendance.

    4. Date/Time: Provide a date and time for the Teams meeting.

    5. Time Zone: HuskyCT default time zone is set to Eastern Time. However, instructors can change this by clicking on the drop down arrow.

    6. Make Recurring: Instructors can set a Teams meeting to reoccur on a specific day, week, and time. Additionally, the start and end day can be changed.

    7. Details: Provide details or information regarding the meeting.

  5. When done, click Save located in the top right hand corner.

  6. Once saved, the meeting will appear within the ‘Upcoming’ tab on Microsoft Education.

  1. From Microsoft Education, open Meetings.

  2. Click the drop-down arrow next to New Meeting.

  3. Select Meet now.

  4. A pop-up window will appear that will allow instructors to change the meeting name, start the meeting, and retrieve a link to share.
