Upgrades Coming to Blackboard (For Instructors)
Blackboard is continuing to make upgrades and edits to Ultra based on user feedback. This page is intended to provide instructors with updates regarding the changes coming to Ultra. This page will be updated frequently, so please check back frequently.
Users should expect to see these updates in March 2026.
AI Generated Knowledge Checks: Instructors can now utilize HuskyCT’s AI-assistant to generate multiple choice knowledge checks.
Enhancement to Course Messages: The message feature will no group new messages with an existing conversation between participants. This reduces the amount of new conversation created between the same users.
Participation due dates: Add a second participation requirement and due date to discussions! Instructors can now set how many posts and replied students are required to completed across two due dates.
Relocation of Question Title Field within Tests: To reduce confusion, Question Title will now be located at the bottom of an assessment question and will only be visible if Metadata is toggled on.
Partial Credit Limits: Instructors can now assign credit values without the requirement that all designated values sum to 100%.
Anonymous Grading by Questions: When grading submissions in Question view, students names are replaced with an anonymous identifier and blank avatar.
Video Studio:
Thumbnail image: When creating a recording, a thumbnail will automatically generate to provide users with an efficient way to identify video content before opening.
Timer: A recording timer will now appear to show the maximum recording time.
