Adding Kaltura Media to Perusall Courses

This article is for instructors looking to add Kaltura Media to their courses on Perusall.

 

Overview:

Perusall is a social annotation tool that allows students to engage with course content, classmates, and instructor(s). Instructors can upload Kaltura Media, such as lecture or informational videos, to their Perusall course to provide students with a more engaging experience.

This article with review how to:

-Creating a downloadable link to Kaltura Media Videos

-Adding Kaltura Media to Perusall course Library

 

 

  1. Navigate to your Kaltura MediaSpace  

  2. Log in using your NetID credentials  

  3. Find the media you wish to download. Ensure that the video is marked as ‘Unlisted’. If not ‘Unlisted’, follow the steps outlined here.  

  4. Create a downloadable link for the Kaltura Media. Follow the steps found here.

  5. When the Download tab appears, right click the Download button. Select Copy Link Address. This link will be pasted into your Perusall course Library.

  1. Navigate to your Perusall course Library

  2. Click Add Content

  3. From the drop down menu, select Link.

  4. Paste the copied link from your Kaltura Media in the URL of wed page. Optionally, provide a Captions file or Secondary video URL.

  5. Click ‘OK'

  6. The link to the Kaltura Media will appear on the Perusall Library Content page.
