Adding Yourself to the Waitlist at classes.uconn.edu

To enroll in courses, students must add each class they intend to take to their schedule. If the class you are searching for is full or you do not meet the reserve capacity requirements and a waitlist option is available, you can add yourself to the waitlist.

Navigate to http://classes.uconn.edu.

Select Login and enter your credentials.

The Class Search homepage is shown with the Login button highlighted.

Once logged in, Welcome, [your name] will appear in place of the Login option.

Enter or select search criteria in the Search Classes panel.

You can search for courses with an open waitlist by updating the ‘Any Open and Closed Classes’ dropdown menu to Closed Classes (Waitlist Open) before searching.

Select Search.

Waitlist Option Available

You can tell if a class has an open waitlist in a couple of ways:

  • The Class Details page should indicate Status = Closed Classes (Waitlist Open)

  • The Waitlist should indicate available seats.

  • The Status of the section in the All Sections area should indicate W for Waitlist.

The Waitlist information and status are highlighted on the Class Details page.

To add yourself to the waitlist, select Add to Cart on the Class Details page.

When asked ‘Which Cart’, choose Primary. Select OK.

The Primary Cart is selected and the OK button is highlighted.

On the Registration Options panel, use the Add to Waitlist if Class if Full option and select Yes.

Select Save Changes.

The waitlist option is set to Yes and the Save Changes button is highlighted.

The Cart Contents panel will open. The class that you just added to the cart should display a message stating ‘This section is Full with Wait List.'

This transaction is still pending. You are NOT yet added to the waitlist.

Select Go to Registration to complete the transaction.

The Go to Registration button is highlighted on the Cart Contents panel.

A Registration panel will open asking you to review your registration selections.

Make sure the changes you are making are selected and choose Submit Registration.

The Submit Registration button is highlighted on the Registration panel.

The transaction(s) may take a few moments.

Once completed, the Registration Results panel will display and indicate the results of the registration transactions. Review the results.

If the transaction was successful the Registration Results message will display with a yellow hourglass icon yellow hourglass icon and indicate “You have been placed on the waitlist in position number #.”

If the Registration Results show an error, this indicates that the transaction you attempted was not successful. The corresponding error message will indicate the reason the transaction did not process and help you determine a corrective course of action. 

If you select Back to Cart to return to your Primary Cart, the class should have the following icons and messages:

  • black hourglass icon ‘You are on the waitlist for this section’

  • warning icon ‘You are currently waitlisted for this class. You will lose your position, if you drop this class! This enrollment status is Wait List’
