Enrolling in Courses from your Shopping Cart in Student Admin

Students must enroll in their classes in Student Admin. Once you have populated your Shopping Cart, either manually or by Using Build My Schedule in the Class Search, use the following steps to enroll in the classes.

Log in to your Student Administration account.

Click on the Manage Classes tile.

Select Shopping Cart from the tile menu.

The Shopping Cart option is highlighted in the Manage Classes tile menu.

If you need to enter a permission number for any course or would like to be added to the Waitlist for the course, select the Change Preferences option in the Preferences column.

The Change Preferences link option is highlighted in the Shopping Cart grid.

Enter the Permission Number and/or select your preference for Waitlist (if available). Select Save.

When you’re ready to enroll, select the checkbox next to the course(s) you want to add to your schedule. Select Enroll.

Validate

Use the Validate button to identify any enrollment validation messages (e.g, time conflicts, pre-requisite requirements, holds, etc.) for courses in which you'd like to enroll.

  1. Select the courses in your shopping cart for which you would like to view enrollment validation messages.

  2. Select the Validate button.

  3. Enrollment validation messages will display for each course you selected. Be sure to review the messages and resolve any that require action before attempting to enroll in the course.

Select Yes when prompted with the message “Are you sure you want to enroll?”

Each course will indicate whether enrollment was successful.

  • A green checkmark iconGreen checkmark iconnext to the course indicates that the enrollment was successful.

ANTH 1000 is shown as successfully enrolled. A message beneath the course indicates--This class has been added to your schedule.

Additional enrollment messages may be included following the class title. In the following example, enrollment in CHEM 1128Q was successful, but the enrollment message indicates “The pre-requisite has been met conditionally. The enrollment is allowed with the condition of satisfying the pre-requisite before the start of the class.

  • A red x iconRed x icon next to the course indicates that the enrollment was unsuccessful. The enrollment message will indicate the reason why the enrollment was unsuccessful.

PHYS 1202Q is shown as unsuccessfully enrolled with an enrollment message below explaining why.

For any courses with unsuccessful enrollment, either select another course or consult your advisor.
