Reviewing the Search Results

The Search Results panel returns all available sections offered for each course based on all of the criteria specified in the Search Classes panel – this includes any criteria specified in the Advanced Search section as well.

Search Results

The Search Results panel lists all courses that meet the search criteria specified. Immediately below the Search Results title bar, you will see how many results were found based on your search criteria. Each course listed includes the section number and meeting pattern (day/time) of the course.

The number of found courses in the search results is highlighted immediately below the title bar of the Search Results panel.

Navigate to the bottom of the Search Results panel to see a summary of the Search Criteria that was applied to the search. To clear any criteria, you must remove it from the Search Classes panel, and the results will refresh automatically.

Multiple Section Types

If a course has multiple section types (lecture, lecture - stand alone, laboratory, discussion) associated with it, this will be indicated by a section type summary notation.

Example: Search criteria is Fall 2025, CHEM. There are 38 courses that meet this criteria. CHEM 1122 has 2 lecture, 17 discussion, and 17 laboratory offerings – this is notated as part of CHEM 1122.

Matched Classes

In some cases where the search results have filtered criteria applied that result in a further refinement of results returned, the course may have an accompanying “Matched # of ##” notation. The first number represents the number of sections within a course that meet the search criteria, and the second number is the total number of sections for that course.

Example: Search criteria are Fall 2025, BIOL, Avery Point. BIOL 1102 has 2 sections (out of 21), BIOL 1107 has 3 sections (out of 68), and BIOL 1108 has 2 sections (out of 28) that are offered in Fall 2025 on the Avery Point campus.

Search Results Calendar

If you wish to see when classes that are returned in the Search Results are offered during the week, select the Calendar widget in the title bar of the Search Results panel. Selecting the Calendar widget expands the calendar view and plots the meeting patterns of the classes.

Example: Search criteria are PLSC 1*, Fall 2025, PLSC, Storrs, UGRD. There are six classes that meet these criteria. The Calendar panel displays when these six classes meet.
