Find your SharePoint site and URL
Students, faculty, and staff may need to find their SharePoint site’s URL in order to share the site or to receive technical support from ITS. Follow this guide to learn how to find your site URL and continue down the guide if you have trouble finding your site.
Using the web browser
Navigate to s.uconn.edu/sharepoint to find your SharePoint home page. This page shows you your frequently visited sites.
Click on the desired SharePoint site if you see it.
If you do not see your site, click on “See all” in the left hand menu for each section until you find your site.
Find the URL in the address bar at the top of window.
Note: if the URL is very long, click on the “Home” button (not the home icon) in the lefthand navigation menu to return to the site’s homepage. This will reduce the URL to only the site’s name.
Copy the URL into your clipboard and share it where needed.
Using the Teams app
Open the Teams desktop app
Click on “Teams” in the lefthand navigation pane to see all of your teams.
Click on your desired team.
In the top navigation menu, click on “Shared” to see the files shared in the team.
In the lower command menu, click on the ellipsis to see more options. Click on “View in SharePoint”.
Find the URL in the address bar at the top of the window.
Only the first 3 sections of the URL are needed: the UConn domain, the “sites”, and the site name.
Trouble finding SharePoint site
Causes
If you were recently added to a SharePoint site, it may be a few minutes before you receive the invitation email.
The new site may not appear at s.uconn.edu/sharepoint if you have not previously visited the site.
Tips for finding your site
Visit s.uconn.edu/sharepoint and use the search box to search for the name of the SharePoint site.
If you can find the original invite email in your email client, use the link listed in that email.
Have another member of the site open the site in their web browser, and then copy the URL and send it to you.
Reach out to techsupport@uconn.edu to receive help in finding your site.
Tip for retaining access to the site
Follow the site: Favorite a SharePoint Site
Add a shortcut to your OneDrive: Access SharePoint files (this should be done with SharePoint sites that you access frequently)
Bookmark the website.
