Card Access Requests for IT Professionals

This article explains how to submit a request for ITS employee card access using the ITS Employee Card Access Request form. Card access allows approved employees and student employees to enter secured ITS-managed spaces across UConn.
This process applies to:
Full-time ITS Employees
University Affiliates
Student Employees
Employees and supervisors should not submit onboarding or offboarding requests unless explicitly instructed. These requests are initiated through the appropriate ITS workflow. The only time an employee or supervisor should submit a request directly is when adding or modifying access permissions. Submitting this form incorrectly may delay processing or cause routing errors.
Employee Onboarding
Grants initial card access to a new employee or student employee. This is used when someone is starting a role and needs access to ITS-managed spaces.
Employee Offboarding
Removes all card access to ITS-managed spaces for an employee or student employee. This is used when someone leaves their position or no longer requires access.
Add or Modify Access Permissions
Updates an existing employee’s access. This includes adding new doors, removing specific access, or changing access levels without fully removing access.
