Space Administration

Kuali Build users will only be able to access Spaces if they are a Space Administrator. UConn Kuali System admins will need to define the Space Administrators in order for them to manage the settings. 

A Space is a way to group together the apps for a particular department or group; it also allows for distribution of management within a Space so that users can manage the settings for their own apps.

To access Spaces:

  • Click on the Ellipsis icon and then navigate to Spaces & Settings.

Within Spaces, you will find four tabs that contain different settings:

  1. General

  2. Apps & Links

  3. Integrations

  4. Branding

General:

Kuali Build System Admins need to assign space admin membership, space admins can then decide who can create new apps within the space.

Space Members will have the ability to create new apps within the Space.

  • To add a user, Group, or Role as a Space Member, click into the search bar and begin typing. Selected users will be listed below the search.

We ask that Space Admins do not create child spaces.

Apps & Links:

Displays the apps and links that have been created within the Space and allows them to be moved from one Space to another. NOTE: Apps can only move spaces from one to another by a Kuali Build System Admin. The Links area allows you create custom external links to display at the top of the Space page.

Links to external resources can be added to your space. To add external Links to your Space you can click the +Add Link button to add the Title that will display, url, description (not required), and upload an image for the link.

Once added the links will appear at the top of the space that can be clicked by end users to more easily access relevant external links.

Note If the Space does not have any apps, it will only be visible to System Admins and Space Admins. Users without Admin permissions will not have access to the Space and the Space will not appear in their sidebar. Users will have access to the Space, once they are given permission to an app within the Space.

Integrations:

Allows Space admins to define integrations available for each Space.

Branding:

Allows admins to define the branding for each individual Space as well as the home Space.  This includes colors and images used throughout apps in the space - including emails sent from these apps.

Branding Guidelines

  • Colors are entered using a hexadecimal value.

  • SVG or PNG Images with a transparent background are recommended.

  • A horizontal image with the logo or name of the school will work best as it will appear in the heading.

  • Recommended height for logo images is between 30px-60px, but each logo varies.
