Intune & Autopilot: Viewing and Removing Primary User and Management Name for Shared Devices

This article’s intended audience is University IT technicians who have been provisioned access to UConn’s Microsoft Intune Admin Center.

  1. Login to Microsoft Intune with your NetIDadmin in the form netidadmin@ad.uconn.edu Account

  2. Click Device in the navigation column, then click Windows Devices

  3. Search for the serial number or name of the computer

  4. Click on the device name

  5. On the Device’s Navigation Menu, click Properties

  6. Under Management Name:

    1. Check the name is the email address, without the “@uconn.edu", of the Full Time Employee Responsible for the device

    2. If the name is not correct, edit the leading part of the Management Name and replace the existing email or GUID with the email address of the FTE without the “@uconn.edu”, but do not edit the rest of the Management Name

  7. Under Primary User:

    1. Check that the Primary User is set to None

    2. If their is a user’s name in the Primary User field, click the blue button Remove Primary User

  8. After making your changes, click Save
