Connecting to a Networked Printer

Connecting to a Networked Printer

Users of university-managed computers can connect to a networked printer owned by their department.

You can only connect to an on-campus printer when connected to the UConn network via UCONN-SECURE or Ethernet. If you are off-campus, you will need the UConn VPN.

It is highly recommended to install the drivers published by Xerox to maximize the functionality of your printer. Most on-campus printers are Xerox. If you have a more recent Xerox-brand device, you should follow the first set of instructions to maximize functionality.

  1. Find the IPv4 address or hostname of your printer. The IPv4 address should be listed on the printer’s device status page. It will likely be formatted 10.16.*.*. If the IP address starts with 169.254.*.*, stop and reach out to your IT support to have your printer properly added to the network.

  2. Enter the address or hostname into your computer’s web browser and navigate to the page.
