Blackboard courses come with an 8 GB storage quota. Use the below steps to see how much you have used.

To view the current usage and limit:

  1. Log into Blackboard and go to your course
  2. Under "Content Collection", click on the Course ID
  3. At the top of the screen, click the small dropdown arrow next to the course ID
  4. Click "Edit Settings" from the menu that appears
  5. Once the Edit Settings page appears, scroll down to the Quota Information section. Here you can see the current size, quota, and how much space is left.

What to do if you've used up your quota:

Delete Large Files:

  1. Log into Blackboard and go to your course
  2. Under "Content Collection", click on the Course ID
  3. At the top of the screen, click the small dropdown arrow next to the course ID
  4. Click "Size" twice to sort by size
  5. Check the boxes next to the files you wish to delete. Generally the largest files will be videos, which can be moved into Kaltura. Duplicate files are another common issue leading to the course quota being used up.

  6. Click Delete. Make sure that the files being deleted are either backed up or unnecessary, as deleting them from the content collection will remove them from your course.

Move Videos to Kaltura:

  1. Log into Blackboard and go to your course
  2. Under "Content Collection", click on the Course ID
  3. At the top of the screen, click the small dropdown arrow next to the course ID
  4. Click the down arrow next to the video you wish to download
  5. Click "Download Package"
  6. Check the box next to the video once it's downloaded, then click "Delete"
  7. Follow this guide to upload the video to Kaltura
  8. Follow this guide to add the video to your HuskyCT course
