In Confluence, the system behind the IT Knowledge Base, you can be notified by email when someone changes a page by using the watch feature. With this feature, you can watch a page, all the content in a space, or just a subset of the page tree.

The page tree displays a dynamic, hierarchical list of pages starting from a specified parent (root) page. It can act as a table of contents or a list of related topics.

If you are the content expert for the material covered or just provide support for the service, ITS recommends watching the page or section. As a wiki type application, Confluence enables anyone given permission to add, edit, and delete to make changes to pages.

How to watch a page(s) in Confluence

  1. On the page you wish to watch, click Watch.
    Watch menu
  2. Check the box for what you want to watch – the single page or the whole space. If you wish to watch the page you are on and all of its descendants, click Watch tree.

You can fine-tune your watches in your profile too. After clicking on your profile picture, select Watches.
