This article is for instructors who wish to learn more about using Course Links in a HuskyCT Ultra course.

A Course Link is a shortcut to an existing folder/module, tool, assessment, or content item in a course.

Linking Exceptions

  • Course Links can’t be created for discussions.

  • A Course Link to a folder or learning module cannot be created inside (or moved into) another another folder or learning module.

  • Course Links don’t work with learning modules where force sequence is enabled. This would allow users access to content they shouldn't yet access.

  • If a course link exists in a learning module, it's not possible to enable force sequence.

Creating a Course Link:

  1. Navigate to your HuskyCT Ultra course.

  2. Click the plus sign on the Course Content page.

  3. Click Create.

  4. Click Link under Couse Content Items.

  5. On the top of the page, click the Course Link tab.

  6. To search for the target item, you can input a keyword and/or check the category type. Then click Search.

  7. Check the circle next to the course item you want to link to.

  8. Input the Display Name for the link and then click Save.

  9. The Course Link will now appear on the Course Content page with a small link icon.

Setting changes made to a folder/learning module, content, or assessment will be reflected in the corresponding Course Link and vice versa.

For example (shown below), if the visibility status of Assignment #1 is changed to “Visible to students” the Course Link to Assignment #1 will also be changed to “Visible to students.” Or, if the visibility of the Course Link for Assignment #1 is changed to “Hidden from students” the original Assignment #1 will also be changed.
