This article is for instructors who wish to learn more about using Course Links in a HuskyCT Ultra course.

A Course Link is a shortcut to an existing folder/module, tool, assessment, or content item in a course.

Linking Exceptions

  • Course Links can’t be created for discussions.

  • A Course Link to a folder or learning module cannot be created inside (or moved into) another another folder or learning module.

  • Course Links don’t work with learning modules where force sequence is enabled. This would allow users access to content they shouldn't yet access.

  • If a course link exists in a learning module, it's not possible to enable force sequence.

Creating a Course Link:

  1. Navigate to your HuskyCT Ultra course.

  2. Click the plus sign on the Course Content page.

  3. Click Create.

  4. Click Link under Couse Content Items.

  5. On the top of the page, click the Course Link tab.

  6. To search for the target content item, you can type a keyword and also check the categories.

  7. Once you are done for setting the search criteria, click Search.

  8. Check the circle next to the content item you want.

  9. Name it as you wish to display for the link and then click Save.

  10. The link will appear on the top of the course content page with a link icon.

When you make changes to the nested contents of a folder or learning module, the changes will appear for any related, expanded course link.

For example, changes made to student visibility or release conditions on the course link applies to the target content, as well as the other way around. You can use batch edit to modify linked items but not associated course links.
