This article is intended for UConn students, faculty, and staff who are trying to add captions to videos in Kaltura.
If you used a transcript to create the video, you can use Kaltura's Alignment Service to create captions.
To Caption Individual Videos
- Go to HuskyCT and click on My Kaltura Media, or go to Mediaspace, click on Guest and click "My Media" to log in.
- Click on the title of the video that you wish to add captioning to.
Below the video on the right-hand side, click “Actions” and select “Caption and Enrich”.
The “Mechanical 70 to 80%” option is the only option currently configured, and is free of charge. Be sure to edit the captions after they're created so they're ADA compliant which is close to 99% accurate.
- Click on "Submit" to confirm your selection and the captions should be added within 30 minutes. You will receive an email when they're complete.

- Click on box to the left of the video(s) that you wish to add captioning to.
At the upper right click “Actions” and select “Caption and Enrich”.
