Ultra Transition Lessons:
Based on the first phase of the Ultra transition in Fall 2024, we learned:

  1. Instructors requesting to convert to Ultra via this Course Copy/Restore form should expect significantly longer wait times (multiple days? could be specific).

  2. Courses converted to Ultra via this Course Copy/Restore form result in more conversion issues and remediation time needed by instructors.

Recommended Alternative:

  • Rebuild your upcoming Ultra course using Copy Content and other course building tools with inside HuskyCTwithin Ultra (see resources below). This results will result in:

    • This is the fastest way to get your Faster copying of course materials copied over into your HuskyCT Ultra course site for the next semester.

    • Not needing to wait to wait for ITS HuskyCT admins to fulfill the requested task for you.

    • Less .

    • Fewer Ultra conversion issues.

Details on who should do this and how follow the sections below.

titleConverting to Ultra (Advanced users onlyvia Course Copy/Request Form)

Converting Bulk converting an existing Original course to Ultra is only recommended for users faculty:

  • whose Original course version uses a simple/basic design and does not use many Blackboard tools and features

  • who have a detailed understanding of the conversion process

, and are only converting small, simple courses that do not use many Blackboard features
  • and are prepared to address conversion issues and content remediation.

It is the experience of the LMS HuskyCT Admin team that users faculty who converted their Original courses to Ultra experienced more issues than those who built there their courses from scratch. Therefore, this is not a recommended process for most usersfaculty. However, the The guide below documents the process should you decide that you would like to do this.
