FacultyThrough ITS, faculty, staff, and students can use Webex , provided through ITS, as a telephone conference bridge, which . This feature enables a host to run a meeting, and guests to join a meeting, without a computer. A computer is still required if you would like to schedule the Meeting and to share the Meeting information.

All Personal Rooms will start in a "locked" state. If the Host is hosting their Personal Room using a phone line (either a landline or cell phone) they will need to dial *5 to unlock the Personal Room once they are in the Meeting to allow others to enter the Meeting. The terms "Webex Meeting" and "Phone Conference" are one and refer to the same ; the concept. The use of one of these names depends on personal choice reflecting how the majority of users are joining. Therefore, phone conferences are scheduled in the same manor as Meetings. Any participant can join either through computer (internet) or phone (phone line), and they may switch back and forth during the Meeting. |

When conducting a Phone Conference using Webex, you may use either your Personal Room or a Scheduled Meeting. Your Personal Room will always use the same Access Code while each Scheduled Meeting will have a unique Access Code (all recurrences of the same Scheduled Meeting will have the same Access Code).

Joining a Meeting through a Phone Line: +1-415-655-0002
When joining a meeting through a phone line, keep in mind the following:
- If you are the Host, see the section "Setting Up and Beginning the Phone Conference in Your Personal Room" above.
- If you are not the Host, continue below:
- Enter the Access Code/Meeting Number
- If you already know the Access Code/Meeting Number of the Meeting, dial the number above then wait for the voice to speak to you. It will ask you to enter the Access Code/Meeting Number and then press #
- ex: 123 456 789#
- If you do not know the Access Code/Meeting Number but have an invite link:
- Open the email or other location where you received the Join Link and click on the link
- Cancel the download if it appears
- Click on the information icon ⓘ at the top of the screen following the Meeting name to open the Meeting Information
- In that pop-up you will find the access code
- If you do not know the Access Code/Meeting Number and do not have an invitation
- Ask the Host to share the Access Code with you
- They may follow this guide to find their code: Sharing Webex Personal Room Information
- If you already know the Access Code/Meeting Number of the Meeting, dial the number above then wait for the voice to speak to you. It will ask you to enter the Access Code/Meeting Number and then press #
- Enter your Attendee ID
- After entering the Access Code/Meeting Number, you will be asked to enter your Attendee ID. You may bypass this step by pressing the pound symbol on your keypad (#).
- If you have already joined the Meeting with a computer, you can find your Attendee ID by clicking on the information icon ⓘ in the top-left corner. If you would like to switch to using your phone to transmit and receive audio only, take note of your Attendee ID and enter it when calling in. This will allow Webex to associate your phone number with your UConn Webex account for this meeting. Entering your Attendee ID will cause your name in the Participants List to appear with a phone icon next it, rather than just your phone number appearing in the list with a name.
