Students, faculty, and staff can live-stream meetings and events webinars to other web platforms, like Kaltura, YouTube, and Facebook. The livestream can begin, end, and restart whenever you choose, but can only stream to one platform at a time.
For best functionality, use the installed version of Webex instead of the Web

Contact the Academic IT department at techsupport@uconn.edu to create a stream for you. Begin the Webex session. Click on the more options button. Click Start live streaming. Select Other streaming services. - Image Modified
Enter the information provided to you by the AIT department. Be sure to choose 1920x1080 for the resolution. Image AddedChange streaming layouts if you would like to alter your livestream layout. Click Start streaming to begin your livestream.

First-Time Setup Note |

Perform these steps at least 24 hours before your first Stream. |
Navigate to YouTube and sign in with your Google Account. You may sign in with either your UConn account or personal accountIn the top-right corner, there is the button to add media to YouTube represented by a camera with a plus sign inside of it. You may have to verify your identity to YouTube by receiving a verification code. after verifying your account, you will be brought to a new web page, use the address bar to navigate back to youtube.com. Once you are back at the YouTube homepage, click on the camera icon again, then Go live again.
You will be given the message: It takes 24 hours to activate your account for live streaming. Once activated, you can go live instantly. Return tomorrow to continue.

YouTube will ask for permission to use your Webcam and Microphone. Be sure to allow this. Image Removed- Image Added
In the top-left, you will see that "Webcam" is currently selected. Click on Stream instead. Image Removed- Image Added
Fill out the information of the Stream then click CREATE STREAM. Image Removed- Image Added
Begin your Webex Meeting or EventWebinar. Click on the ellipsis button in the bottom row of buttons then click Start live streaming. Image ModifiedChoose Other streaming services. Type in “YouTube Live.” Copy and paste the Stream URL from YouTube into the "Target stream link" box in the Webex window. Copy and paste the Stream key from YouTube into the "Target stream key" box in the Webex window. Be sure to choose 1920x1080 for the resolution. Image AddedClick the arrow in the top-right corner to find the YouTube Stream Share link. Image ModifiedChange streaming layouts if you would like to alter your livestream layout. Click the Start streaming button to connect Webex. This will not start the Youtube stream yet. You will soon see a preview of your Webex Meeting/ Event Webinar in the top-left video player on the YouTube page. Once you see your Webex in the preview, you may then begin your YouTube stream by clicking GO LIVE in the top-right corner. Image Removed- Image Added
Monitoring the Stream on YouTubeDo not navigate away from the screen from the previous section of this guide. From there, you can monitor and end the Stream. Image RemovedImage AddedYou may view the analytics of the stream, edit the information, and end the stream from this page.

Initiating the Live-Stream of your Webex Meeting or EventWebinarBegin your Webex Meeting or EventWebinar. Click on the ellipses button in the row of button along the bottom of the Webex window. Choose Facebook Live. Image Removed- Image Added
Log into Facebook using this popup window if you have not already gone through this process. Image Removed- Image Added
Change streaming layouts if you would like to alter your livestream layout. Press Continue as [Your Name] if prompted. Click on Choose what you allow. If you would like to share as little data between Webex and Facebook as you can, you may disable all the allowances.
Enter the Meeting/ Event Webinar information and choose the visibility settings. Image Removed- Image Added
Click Start Streaming.
Running the Live-StreamOnce the Live-Stream is running, you will be brought back to your Webex Meeting Window. Continue your Meeting as per usual, utilizing the tools in the Webex Meeting window. You do not need Facebook to be open in your web browser during the stream. If you chose to open it during your stream while you are sharing your screen, you will create the infinite window effect and the chat will be able to see itself as well. You may mute your microphone and webcam as you would in a regular Webex Meeting/EventWebinar. You may share your screen with the live-stream.

Click on Apps and Websites from the list on the left. Check the box of the App you would like to remove. Click Remove. Image Removed- Image Added
Remove Webex and decide these next options: Click the top check box to remove all posts that were made by Webex if desired. This will include the posts of your concluded streams. Uncheck the bottom box so that you do not send a message to Cisco.

Click Remove to finish removing the Webex integration.
