Nonrenewals
According to the AAUP contract, notice of non-renewal of a one-year appointment shall be afforded according to the schedule listed below.
Probationary employees shall receive fourteen (14) calendar days’ notice
After one (1) year of probationary employment, thirty (30) calendar days’ notice;
After one (1) year of non-probationary employment: sixty (60) calendar days’ notice;
After continuous non-probationary employment of three (3) or more years: one hundred twenty (120) calendar days’ notice;
Renewals
Renewals don't need to be a full year, they can be a few months at a time - (e.g., if there is a grant that only goes through that time)
Renewal letters that are done before the CBI, use current salary and add “plus applicable collective bargaining increases”
Multi-Year appointments are going to be done in 3 year increments per Dean Harel 10.28.24
