Double Major is a term used to describe a student who is actively pursuing multiple degrees within the same school or collegeone degree in two majors.

A double major student will have two active academic plans (majors) within one academic program.  For example, a student can major in Economics and Political Science within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (UCLAS).  The second major will be identified with the numeral 2 as the first character in the academic plan code.

However, if the student is pursuing multiple majors simultaneously, there is no fixed field in the database that denotes that the student is a double major candidate, but in reality, because there is more than one major associated with the student, they are defined as a double major.
