IMPORTANT!!!If the student separated from the university, the student would have access to their Student Administration portal for 2 years. If the student is unable to login, they may need to reactivate their NETID to log in. If they are unable to activate, please contact techsupport@uconn.edu and or 860-486-4357 for assistance.

In lieu of a 1098-T, students can always review their UConn fee bills and IRS Publication 970 in consultation with a tax professional.  UConn is unable to give tax advice.

PLEASE READ BELOW!

Tax Form 1098-T is a tuition statement that colleges and universities are required to issue to most students who paid for “qualified educational expenses” in the preceding calendar year.

When determining whether a student is eligible for a 1098-T, UConn looks at whether your grants, scholarships, or other third-party payments exceed the payments made towards Qualified Tuition and Related Expenses (QTRE). Per IRS regulations, QTRE consists of tuition and most mandatory fees.  QTRE does not include room and board. 

To view and download a copy of your Form 1098-T, please log into Student Admin, and go to the "Bursar Services" tile > View 1098-T. Please note that we are unable to email or fax the form to anyone.

If you cannot view or download a 1098-T Form, the total of your grants, scholarships, or other third-party payments exceeded the payments made towards your QTRE tax year.  When this happens, UConn is not required by the IRS to create a 1098-T.  You do not have a 1098-T as a result.

If a 1098-T does not open when you click the appropriate tax year, or if an error message appears, please do the following:

  1. Ensure you have disabled pop-up blockers on your device and browser.

  2. Use a computer (not a mobile device).

  3. Use Chrome or Firefox browsers (not Safari).

  4. Clear your cache/cookies.
