In February, ITS is performing an “initial migration” that will copy the data from your Google Drive into your OneDrive. This is a very resource-intensive and time-consuming process. Starting March 4th, ITS will perform a “final migration”. This second migration will copy over files that have been changed since the initial migration. At the conclusion of the final migration, you will receive an “all clear” message from ITS and can start working within OneDrive. A quota will be placed on your Google Workspace account to prevent creating new files after this point, as those files would not be migrated to Microsoft. However, you will still be able to review pre-migration files and sharing settings before your account closes at the end of April. Please visit https://its.uconn.edu/google-to-microsoft-365-transition/ for a full timeline. |

Any alterations to the “GDrive” folder or its contents before receiving the “all clear” from ITS will result in a mismatch between Google Drive and OneDrive and cause subsequent migrations of your files to fail. This will also slow down other ongoing migrations. Please read “What is the full migration process?” above for more context. |
