In order to connect an Internet of Things (IoT) device to the UConn network, you must register your device by providing the device's MAC address. Every network-connected device has an IP address and a unique MAC address that identifies it on the network. This article covers how to find the MAC address on devices commonly registered with ITS.

At the home menu, go left to select Settings, and then choose Network Settings Select Settings and Connection Status List. Scroll to the bottom area to find the MAC Address.

Finding the Wired MAC AddressClick on the Apple Icon in the top left and go to System Preferences (System Settings on 13.0 or later). Click Network Go to the Network adapter you wish to find the MAC address for. Your computer will have a different wired and wireless MAC address Click Advanced… in the bottom right Click Hardware and the MAC address will be listed
