Faculty, students, and staff can connect a MacBook via HDMI cable to a projector. Users can also change the settings for the connection, like audio, resolution adjustment, and the display. 

Connecting HDMI Audio with a MacBook

  1. Click on the Display tab in the Display window. 

  2. From the Optimize drop-down menu, select Extron D. 

  3. Select the Scaled option from just below the drop-down menu. 

  4. You will be provided two options for resolutions. Select the the 720p option. 

Extended Desktop

When in the desktop is extended, you need to use both your MacBook screen and the classroom preview screen to adjust resolution rates.

  1. Deselect the Mirror Display option under the Display Menu. 

  2. On the classroom preview monitor, you will see a Display window. Select the Display tab on this window.

  3. Scroll to the right to access the second screen.

  4. Select the Scaled option.

  5. You will be provided two options for resolutions. Select the the 720p option.

Once your settings have been selected, they will become the default settings when you connect your laptop to the the classroom system again. Close all windows related to the settings for Display and System Preferences.
