To create a journal for your students follow the steps below. |

Journal Through the Journals Tool Page

In the course where you would like to add a journal, navigate to Course Management → Course Tools →
JournalsJournals.
Select
"Create Journal
".
Under
"Journal Information
",
Give the journal a name that both you and your students can understand.
[Optional] Write instructions for the students. This can include a prompt or guidelines for the students.
Make the journal available to students.
Under
"Journal Date and Time Restrictions
",
If you would like to limit the availability for a certain date and/or time, select the
"Display After
"option and insert a date and time.
If you would like to have the journal only available until a certain date, select the
"Display Until
"option and insert
a datea date and time.
- Note: both
Both options can be selected at the same time.
Under
"Journal Settings

Select the option for which you would like journal entries to be indexed.
The following three boxes can be
seletedselected as desired for your course.

:" option under "Grade Settings" and enter your points possible. Click Submit.

Select Tools →

"Link to a Journal
".
Select the journal that you created.
Click Submit.

Select Tools → Journals.
