This article is for faculty, students and staff who are experiencing issues with video playback in HuskyCT. The most common causes for issues with video playback are often your browser/device settings or network connection.

Poor Video Quality (e.g. choppy video, frequent buffering, etc.)
- Uncheck the Enable hardware acceleration box
- Check the quality of your internet connection on the Speedtest website.
- If the test indicates a download speed less than 1-2 MB/sec, connect your device to a faster network.
- If you’re connected to a UConn network, contact the ITS Help Center for assistance.
Disable hardware acceleration.
Note This step only applies to Flash Player. - Right-click on the flash video.
- Select Settings from the menu that appears.
- Select the first tab displayed along the bottom of the page.

Video Stops During Playback

- Download Java on your device from the Java website.
- Click on the downloaded file to install Java.
- On the download page, click the Verify button to indicate that Java has been successfully installed.
- Restart your web browser.
- Navigate to the page where the video appears.
- Click the link to activate Java, if it is not already active.
