This article is for students, faculty, and staff who are experiencing slow connection speeds or are unable to access UConn network resources over Wi-Fi when the Pulse VPN client application is installed, and it will provide instructions on how to resolve these issues.

The problem is caused by an unknown interoperability issue with the Juniper Network Service and the physical wireless adapter when Pulse Desktop Client is installed.

Disable the Juniper Network Service from both the virtual and physical wireless network adapters.


Resolving Issues with Slow Speeds and Resource Access

  1. Ensure that Pulse VPN is connected.

  2. Open Control Panel and select Network and Sharing Center then select Change adapter settings.

  3. Right-click on the WiFi adapter. 

  4. Select Properties.

  5. Un-check the box for

    Juniper Network Service

    Juniper Network Service.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Right-click on the Pulse Secure virtual adapter, if it exists.

  8. Select Properties.

  9. Un-check the box for Juniper Network Service.

  10. Click OK.

  11. Restart your computer.
