Students, staff and faculty can configure Gmail on to Outlook 2019 on Windows.

In order to configure Gmail on Outlook 2019, you need to first enable IMAP within your UConn Gmail account.  View instructions for configuring these settings.

Setting up Gmail in Outlook 2019 on Windows

  1. In Outlook, navigate to File > Add Account (under the Info tab on the left)

  2. Enter your Gmail address (Firstname.Lastname@uconn.edu) in the email address box.

  3. Select Advanced options, then check "Let me set up my account manually," then select Connect.

  4. Select IMAP

  5. Under "IMAP Account Settings," enter the following information:

    1. Under "Incoming mail:"

      1. Server: imap.gmail.com

      2. Port: 993

      3. Encryption Method: SSL/TLS

    2. Under "Outgoing mail:"

      1. Server: smtp.gmail.com

      2. Port: 587

      3. Encryption Method: STARTTLS

  6. Select Next.

  7. Where prompted, enter your GApps account password. 

  8. A Gmail sign-in page will show up. Follow the instruction to enter your Gmail address and Gmail password. 

  9. Allow Microsoft apps & services to manage the listed options. 

  10. Once the page says, "Account successfully added," select Done to complete the process.

It may take a second for your email to sync, but you can always go to the Send / Receive tab in Outlook and select Send/Receive All Folders.
