WebFOCUS security is based upon your NetID, the groups you have membership to, and the roles that those groups have within the system. Users, Groups, and Roles are the three basic parts of the security system. The groups that you belong to all have roles assigned to them. There will be Each group has an Administrator for each group, as well as Developers, Basic Users, and Advanced Users.

Groups and Roles

    • Basic User – open: Open, view, and run reports, queries, charts and graphs.
    • Advanced User : Basic user plus create reports, queries, charts and graphs. Create job schedules and publish reports, queries, charts, graphs and job schedules.
    • Developer – Advanced :  Advanced user plus the ability to create and run file transfer job schedules, as well as the capability to use the Text Edit function to write native FOCUS code.
    • Administrator – Developer :  Developer role plus administrative role of “owning” the folder. Has the ability to permit and/or remove access to the folder that they “own”“own.
