•  If your iOS device has not been previously set up, power on the device. 
•  If your iOS device has already been set up, you will need to format the iOS device before continuing.
•  Select your preferred language from the list of languages.

•  Select United States from the list of countries. 
•  If you are on the UCONN Network and are not the end user, connect to UCONN-Guest. 
•  If you are on the UCONN Network and are the end user, connect to UCONN-Secure.
•  If you are not on the UCONN Network, connect to your local wireless network from the list of available networks. 
•  

  Enable Location Services.

  Enabling the Location Services feature is both necessary and important , because UConn uses it to manage your iPad or iPhone.

  
  

•  The Remote Management screen will appear. Press Next.

  Sign in with your NetID and Password.
  

  Note
  At this point, you can continue working with ITS staff. A technician will place your iOS device in the appropriate group in ITS' Mac management system.
