General Overview
WebFOCUS is a tool used to navigate and select functions for reporting. InfoAssist is a tool within WebFOCUS used to create and edit a report. The DataMart (e.g., KFDM, SADM, HRDM, etc.) are Oracle databases which source information for financial, student administration, and human resource reporting at UConn.

To query the UCSADM databases we will be using the WebFOCUS InfoAssist tool. We are currently using Information Builders WebFOCUS Release 8.1.0.5 for all of our WebFOCUS environments. The URL for our production environment is https://bi.uconn.edu
Basic Terminology
- KFDM – Kuali Financial Datamart; the location for storing data from KFS, Genesys and other data marts that will be the source information for financial reporting at UConn
- SADM - Student Administration Datamart; add description/definition here
- HRPYDM - Human Resource/Payroll Datamart; add description/definition here
- WebFOCUS – one of the reporting platforms used by UConn that can bring together information from various sources (data marts) by creating and executing valuable reports
- InfoAssist – tool within WebFOCUS that is used to create customized reports. (How to use InfoAssist is the subject of the Introduction to InfoAssist class.)
